Costa Brava´s Food

In the gastronomic culture of the Costa Brava, we find exactly the same. Its chefs are intrepid and skilled in the kitchen and are in constant search of excellence and innovation, counting also around them quality, fresh and authentic luxury products full of colours, smells and flavours. That is why the recipes and dishes that come from its kitchens have made this Catalan area one of the favourite destinations for lovers of good food and the best way of life.

Some of its most typical dishes are the carving of cabbage and potato with bacon, and all kinds of suquets, among which highlights the monkfish and red shrimp, sausage, sea urchins ("grotes"), rock mussels as well as excellent crustaceans such as lobster or lobster. In addition to these delicacies, there is a huge variety of rice dishes and traditional recipes with vegetables and legumes. And not forgetting its unique desserts such as "crespells", "Bunyols de l'Empordà" (fritters) or "Flaones de Sant Pau".

Gastronomy is so important in this area that some of the best chefs in the world were born and acquired their knowledge here, such as Ferran Adrià with the famous Bullí, or the Roca brothers, with the famous restaurant Celler de Can Roca, awarded every year with the prestigious Michelin stars. Some of the restaurants that have been awarded a Michelin star are: Terra Restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca, Miramar, Massana, La Cuina de Can Simón, Empòrium, Els Brancs.
