Madrid´s Culture

From Madrid to the sky! It is one of the most famous sayings about the city, the sky of Madrid has that intense blue colour that makes it so characteristic. As the capital of Spain since 1561, it houses the most important state institutions as the seat of the central government, as well as being the official residence of the Kings and major national organizations. Madrid has almost 7 million inhabitants so we can say that it is a city open to all those who wish to discover it, in which a multitude of cultural, gastronomic, business, leisure and entertainment proposals are combined, being its tourist offer one of the most solid and diversified in Europe and the world.

Madrid is positioned as a benchmark for luxury tourism. The capital has become one of the most attractive destinations for this type of tourism. In addition to a high-quality hotel plant, which in many cases has been incorporating the most renowned chefs of the Spanish culinary scene into its gastronomic offer, Madrid has restaurants and gastronomic spaces of high quality and careful designs, with about 20 establishments with Michelin stars.

It has also developed a luxury retail trade. The big international design brands have settled in the so-called Golden Mile, a set of central streets that houses all kinds of stores capable of satisfying the most exclusive needs. The recently opened Canalejas Gallery and the future incorporation of other cities have been incorporated neighbourhoods into the shopping circuit.
