Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, has the virtue of preserving places where time seems to stand still and where life is tranquil. It has a surface area of 4,992 km2 and a population of 1,219,404 inhabitants.

 

Historians who define the origin of Mallorca agree that the date when man first set foot on the island may be around 7,000 BC, during the Talayotic period, a period from which important remains are still preserved in archaeological sites such as Capcorb Vell.

 

Palma is the capital of the island, also known as "The Pearl of the Mediterranean". In 2015 "The Sunday Times" chose it as the best place in the world to live, surely it has a lot to do with the fact that the city maintains an interesting socio-cultural activity throughout the year, and its inhabitants have at their disposal an unequalled selection of gastronomic and leisure spaces. What makes this city incomparable is the possibility of being able to enjoy all the comforts and services offered by a European city, and also to enjoy urban beaches and an absolutely attractive and dynamic nautical sector.

 

Sailing is incredibly important on the island, as the Copa del Rey (King's Cup) is held every year. It is one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean and also one of the most popular.
